Key Accomplishments

Expanding Access to Microfinance

Co-owned the launch of Kiva's Auto-Lending engine and the $5 Notes migration, which lowered the minimum loan from $25 to $5 — making microfinance accessible to more first-time lenders and expanding Kiva's reach globally.

Unifying Safety Tooling at Waymo

Designed and built a generic event triage tool processing millions of driving events per week, replacing 4 bespoke tools and giving engineers a single interface to measure and improve Self-Driving System performance.

Backend Platform for a Privacy-First Mobile Wallet

Led backend services for Moby, Sentz's flagship wallet app — everything beyond the core blockchain. Took one service from PoC to production with CI, rate limiting, observability, and partner integrations.

Scaling Traffic Enforcement Infrastructure

Designed and shipped an event pipeline orchestrator for HaydenAI, consolidating fragmented dispatching into a robust, observable system. Led a multi-engineer effort to decouple fleets from violation processors, expanding operational flexibility and helping land a new client.

  • Designed and led the implementation of an orchestrator for event processing, consolidating fragmented message dispatching into one dedicated service, improving robustness, configurability and observability.

Full stack engineer helping upgrade Kiva's backends, including building and launching enhancements to auto-lending and subscription offerings.

  • One of two engineers on the Auto-Lending team — the tool that made 9.6% ($1.5MM) of Kiva's annual revenue and facilitated 19.4% ($25MM) of annual lending in 2020 (revenue up 750% from 2019; lending up 40%).
  • Led the $5 notes project, lowering the minimum lending amount from $25 to $5 — making Kiva more approachable to new users and unlocking upwards of $3MM in funds for auto-lending.
  • Led a migration of how Kiva backends sync with Salesforce, switching from polling-query to push-notification model with message passing for better scaling and robustness.
